Medical Care

Student Health Services (SHS)

All currently enrolled IBAIT students are eligible for Student Health Services. UWF's Student Health Services is a primary care clinic. Services include women’s health, STI testing/treatment, diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, immunizations, health education and prevention.

Cost of Care

There is no charge for students to be seen by one of our providers. However, there are fees associated with labs and nursing services. Many laboratory tests required for diagnosis and treatment can be performed at SHS at a reasonable cost. Student Health Services does not bill insurance for services provided, but we highly recommend that students have health insurance.

Off-Campus Medical Care

The following information is for general guidance if you elect to seek medical care outside of UWF's Student Health Services. It is your responsibility to research your treatment options based on your health insurance plan(s).

What to bring - Bring a copy of your insurance verification form or ID card for each health insurance policy you have. At a minimum, these documents should include your policy number and the insurance company's name, address, & phone number.

  • If you purchased a pre-approved insurance plan, you should have received an email from the provider with a link to access your insurance card and find local providers.

Secondary Insurance (excess coverage) - You should provide your primary insurance policy information at the time of service. If your primary insurance policy does not cover all costs of care, and you do not have a secondary insurance policy, the College of Business has purchased a supplementary insurance policy to assist. If you receive a bill after your insurance(s) has processed your claim, you may submit a claim to this policy for any remaining balances as excess coverage (secondary insurance). Please contact our office for more information.
