Diploma Types

Courtesy Electronic Diplomas

Students earning a bachelor's degree or higher will receive a courtesy electronic diploma at no cost approximately 3-4 weeks following the degree awarding period. All financial holds must be cleared before the courtesy electronic diploma will be released. Should you not receive your courtesy electronic diploma, please note that after one year of the degree being awarded; a diploma request must be submitted in all cases.

Hard Copy Diplomas

If you wish to obtain a hard copy of your diploma, please wait until after you receive your courtesy electronic diploma to place an order for a printed copy. Visit the How to Submit a Diploma Request Confluence Page for detailed instructions.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for the processing of a Diploma Request; if you request a notary, the time frame will be extended to 6-8 weeks. If the request was placed before receiving the courtesy electronic diploma please note the timeframe begins the day the electronic diploma is issued for the previously submitted request.

Name Changes

The diploma name must match the legal first and last name on file with the university. If you want to change the legal first and/or last name that appears on your diploma, submit a Student Data Change Form with supporting legal documentation through MyUWF, and you may find more information here.

Diploma Format

Diplomas reflect name, degree earned, major/program, university honors (if applicable), and degree date. We are unable to change major/program names because they are determined by their respective departments.

Displaying Your Diploma

The UWF Bookstore has diploma frames available that provide students with several options for showcasing hard copies of diplomas. Visit the UWF Bookstore Website for a selection of frames.
