Getting Started with Kurzweil 3000
1. Self-Registration / Account Setup:
- Log in to MyUWF and search for “Kurzweil”
- Click “Kurzweil 3000 Self Registration.”
- Complete the registration fields to create your account.
2. Open Kurzweil 3000:
- Search for “Kurzweil 3000 Web App” on MyUWF.
- Log in using your assigned username and password.
3. Open a Compatible File: Upload Word documents, text files, or other supported formats.
4. Select Text to Read: Highlight the text you want the software to read aloud.
5. Use Reading and Study Tools: Explore highlighting, note-taking, dictionary lookup, and other features to support comprehension and study.

Set Up Kurzweil 3000 Chrome App and Read the Web Extension
If you use Chrome as your default browser, Kurzweil offers both a web app and a browser extension:
Kurzweil 3000 Chrome App: Quickly access the web app login page.
Kurzweil Read the Web Extension: Adds a reading toolbar and options directly in your browser for reading and interacting with web content.
Steps to Install
Launch Chrome.
Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for “Kurzweil” or “K3000.”
Click Add to Chrome for both the Kurzweil 3000 app and the Read the Web extension.
Note: Kurzweil 3000 does not need to be installed on your computer—only your login is required.
The Kurzweil 3000 Chrome app will be added to your Apps page. Click it to go directly to the Kurzweil 3000 Web App login page. The Web App is covered in more detail in the Web App section.
The Kurzweil Read the Web extension will add the Kurzweil icon to the upper-right corner of Chrome, giving you access to the reading toolbar and options.
