Getting Started with UWFLet's make you an Argo! To get started, you'll first need to take these steps. Submit your ApplicationActivate your MyUWF/ArgoNet account to accessing MyUWFImmunization RequirementsSubmit your Mandatory Immunization Health History Form and supporting documentation through the Immunization Status App in MyUWF. Late, incomplete, or inaccurate information may delay registration. FERPA ReleaseAll AFJROTC students are required to submit a FERPA Release form allowing UWF to share your educational records with the Air Force Junior Reserve Office Training Corps (AFJROPTC), a Government sponsored program. FERPA and Student Records information >> Financial Responsibility StatementComplete the Financial Responsibility Statement, which is an agreement the University requires every UWF student to acknowledge before registering for classes. This can cause confusion for students whose tuition is paid by a third party. Unfortunately, there's no way to avoid this requirement, regardless of a student's method of payment. Thankfully, it's an easy process! |

Upgrading your MyUWF account to a full-access ArgoNet accountYour ArgoNet account will be available for update within two hours after being registered for courses. MyUWF contains the information and all of the online services you need to be an active member of the UWF community. To access MyUWF, click the green MyUWF button at the top of UWF webpages, or go to my.uwf.edu. Understanding the layout of MyUWF and using the Search features will allow you to quickly find what you need. If you need assistance accessing MyUWF, please refer to Getting Started in MyUWF. Upon enrolling, you will be issued a UWF student email account. All students are expected to regularly check their UWF email account for University business and official University communications Google Apps is UWF's official email (Gmail) and calendar system. To access your email, calendar, and collaboration tools, log into Google Apps at gmail.students.uwf.edu. Your email address is your ArgoNet username followed by "@students.uwf.edu". Canvas eLearning Management SystemUWF's online courses are made available through the Canvas eLearning Management System. This is where instructors post course materials, such as syllabi, learning materials (documents, videos, etc.), discussions, calendar, inbox and notifications, announcements, grades, quizzes, and assignments. Ensure you receive instructor notifications and announcements by logging into Canvas at least every two days and checking your Canvas notification preferences. Please watch the Canvas Overview video for an introduction to the Canvas Dashboard, Global Navigation links, course navigation, and accessing assignments. Accessing CanvasYou can access Canvas via the Canvas Mobile App or from your web browser by using either of the following methods:
Courses will appear on your Canvas Dashboard on the first day of class. Prior to this time, your course not be available, unless the instructor opens the class early. Once you are in Canvas, you will see your course listed and you can click on it to access it. You will notice a toolbar on the left with navigation options on the landing page. You should see a “Begin Here” option but can always select “Modules” and access the course material that way. Additional InformationNautilus CardStudents of the University of West Florida are eligible to get a Nautilus Card (student ID card), though cards are only required for students attending classes on the Pensacola campus. While physical Nautilus Cards can only be obtained at the Pensacola campus, a virtual card option is available. |
