Course Requirements
Course registration is dependent upon the status of your Study Abroad Application and compliance with Study Abroad Health Insurance requirements.
MBA students will take GEB5118 New Ventures. If necessary, this course can serve as a substitution for one of the following courses (as advised by your academic advisor):
- MAN 6156 Management & Organizational Behavior
- GEB 6895 Business & Public Policy
- MAN 6721 Strategic Management & Policy Formulation
Undergraduate students will take MAN 4750 The Future: Projecting, Planning, and Managing.

Dates
All participants will travel roundtrip from Pensacola Regional Airport to Liberia International Airport in Costa Rica.
Arrival: Sunday, January 2, 2022
Departure: Sunday, January 9, 2022

Cost
The cost of this trip covers all expenses, excluding course registration. This includes travel, insurance, meals, lodging, and excursions.
Total cost: $1,996
Payment options: The cost of the trip can be paid in one lump some or in up to four installment payments.

Students will be required to complete some online course work (i.e. video lectures or SmartBook style assignments) before the trip in order to apply course concepts while in Costa Rica. Students will participate in 25 academic hours on the trip (see Itinerary). The remainder of course requirements will be completed by January 30th.

Covid-19
No. However, all air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to have a negative COVID-19 viral test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States.

International Travel
Yes. The University of West Florida requires that all UWF students and programs going abroad have Study Abroad Insurance coverage.
Insurance costs are included in the cost of the trip.

Yes. US nationals must have a current valid passport. US passport must be valid for a minimum of one day from the day you enter Costa Rica.
Not all people who wish to travel to Costa Rica need a tourist visa. Please consider the following information from the Embassy of Costa Rica:
- US nationals do not require an entry visa to Costa Rica. However, they must have a current valid passport and a return ticket to exit Costa Rica within 90 days. (Either to return to your country or to go to another country). US passport must be valid for a minimum of one day from the day you enter Costa Rica. As a tourist US nationals cannot stay more than 90 days. For a stay longer than 90 days a residence permit must be established.
- Other nationals might not require an entry visa to Costa Rica. To verify all entry requirements according to your nationality please see the following link nationalities.
