Zoom is a cloud-based software that allows your instructor to moderate an online meeting with students.
Zoom Meetings
In a Zoom meeting, your instructor may use the following options:
- If your instructor is using Zoom within Canvas, a Zoom link will appear in the course menu. You will be able to see upcoming meetings and any recordings your instructor has created.
- If your instructor schedules the meeting through Canvas, you will receive a Canvas notification, and a calendar event will be placed on the course calendar. The link to the Zoom meeting will be located in the notification and calendar event. See Zoom Quick start guide for new users.
- Students can use the text-based In-meeting chat to ask questions
- Instructors can set up personal one to one meetings with students
- Instructors can share polls with students
Access Cloud Recordings
Some instructors may record Zoom meetings that you can view later. In Canvas, you will be able to view recordings from the Zoom link in the course menu. In the tabbed menu on the Zoom, page click Cloud Recordings.
