Abstract

As a recipient of Federal funds, the University of West Florida (the "University") is required to comply with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. ("Title IX"), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities. The University is committed to providing programs, activities, and an educational environment free from sex-based discrimination.

This policy primarily explains the grievance process for Sexual Harassment and Retaliation as those terms are defined in this policy and as defined under the Title IX regulations. If an allegation of misconduct does not match this policy's definition of Prohibited Conduct, the University may still consider the allegation under University Policy P-13, Prohibition of Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation, or University Regulation 3.010, Student Code of Conduct, as each may be amended.
