The University of West Florida has taken steps to comply with the State University System Board of Governors Regulation 3.0075 – Security of Data and Related Information Technology Resources and Florida Statutes §112.22

This regulation requires institutions to remove technologies published in the State University System (SUS) Prohibited Technologies List from any university-owned device and to block network traffic associated with these technologies.  As of October 2024, the list includes:

  • Kaspersky
  • VKontakte
  • Tencent QQ
  • TikTok
  • WeChat
  • Temu
  • Tutor.com
  • CamScanner
  • SHAREit
  • Alipay
  • AliExpress


Use of these applications on University-owned devices or networks will be prohibited and use of these applications will be blocked on devices connected to the campus’ wired and wireless networks.
