Who is this for?

This is for any Faculty, Staff, or Student that has access to GIS Software and users who have never logged on to https://pns.maps.arcgis.com or https://www.arcgis.com/index.html

If you have an existing account created before Fall 2019, see special instructions at the bottom of the page.

Introduction

ArcGIS.com uses UWF credentials (how you sign into MyUWF or your email) to create an account in our ArcGIS Organization. This account allows users to share their GIS work and access resources available through ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS StoryMaps, and ArcGIS Pro.

Keep in mind that when you are no longer a student, staff, or faculty, your account will be deactivated.




Getting Started

Logging In the First Time

When you go to https://pns.maps.arcgis.com or https://www.arcgis.com/index.html you should be prompted to sign in. If not, look for a sign-in button.

  1. Choose the "Your ArcGIS organization's URL" button

2. Type in "pns" and check to Remember this URL, then hit Continue.

3. Select the UWF ArgoNet Login button.


4. Sign in with your UWF user name and password.



Logging in from ArcGIS Pro for the first time

  1. For First time login - In the upper right corner of ArcGIS Pro, select sign in.
     
  2. Expand “Your ArcGIS Organization’s URL” Input “pns” for the Enterprise address, check Remember this URL, and Continue. Select UWF ArgoNet Login and Sign in with your UWF username and password. 


It may take a few moments for your account to be created. Do not navigate away from the screen or refresh.  If you are already logged in to another UWF system, like Canvas or MyUWF, the login should be automatic. If you are not, you should be prompted to enter your UWF username and password.

If this is your first time logging in and you receive an error, please let your instructor know.



Logging In After the First Time

If you checked to remember your login or sign me in automatically, your options during the sign in process will look a little different.  Mainly you won't need to type in "pns" in the organizational account address and always use the UWF ArgoNet Login option.

Logging in to ArcGIS.com for a 2nd time:

  1. Select the sign in button.
  2. Select PNS button
  3. Select UWF ArgoNet Login button
  4. Sign in with your UWF username and password if prompted.

Logging in from ArcGIS Pro a 2nd time:

  1. In the upper right corner of ArcGIS Pro, select Sign in.
     
  2. Choose UWF ArgoNet Login button. Sign in with your UWF username and password.  When signed in, you should see your name (University of West Florida)
  3. Use your UWF credentials to login if prompted.



Users Prior to Fall 2019

You may continue to log in using your existing ArcGIS Online accounts.  Expand ArcGIS Login under the Enterprise Login option and enter your username and password as normal. You may also login with the updated instructions above which will create a new account.  The new account will have an _pns at the end of the user name.  None of the content you created with your original UWF esri account will appear in the new _pns account.

When you leave UWF, you will no longer have access to your account.

Faculty and Staff, over time, existing accounts will be converted to Enterprise Logins. You will be contacted before any change is made.




For Instructors

Starting Fall 2019, there will be no need to send a list of your students needing accounts. Access is granted automatically for any student enrolled in a GIS prefix course, approved course, or anyone manually given access to ArcGIS software. If your students receive an error, make sure they do not have an ArcGIS account created before Fall 2019. If you have class wide issues, please contact Amber Bloechle
