When you login to Canvas you will see the Canvas Dashboard. The dashboard helps you stay organized and can help track upcoming events in your classes. You can always navigate back to the Dashboard by clicking the link in the left side navigation bar.

Note: While the Dashboard provides a useful overview, it's important that you regularly visit each of your courses. Relying too much on the Dashboard could cause you to miss important class materials. 

To Customize my Courses list:

When you are enrolled in more than one Canvas course, you can customize the active courses you want to show in your Course list. Courses you want to show in the Courses dropdown menu are called favorite courses. 

  1. Click the Courses Icon on the left side navigation bar, then All Courses.
  2. To favorite a course, click the star next to a course. Courses with yellow starts show the course is a favorite.
  3. Courses in the current semester (current enrollments) automatically appear on your Dashboard.
