Overview

The ITS Help Desk monitors external cyber-security breaches that contain UWF email addresses. These are not UWF data breaches. Outside breaches such as these may compromise your account credentials. For this reason we recommend UWF email accounts only be used for educational and/or UWF business purposes.

Notification

The ITS Help Desk will notify and secure as necessary accounts following a non-UWF data breach. Secured accounts may require Changing your MyUWF/ArgoNet password or Activating your MyUWF/ArgoNet Account to restore access.

Addressing Potential Compromises

If you have received a notification that your account was related to a non-UWF Data breach, we recommend that you complete the following steps to secure your account:

  1. Change your ArgoNet password immediately via the My Account App inside MyUWF. Changing your password may prevent anyone who received the compromised data from being able to access your UWF accounts. For instructions on changing your password, please see this link: Changing your MyUWF/ArgoNet password

  2. Turn on 2-Step Verification on your UWF Google account. Turning on 2-Step verification can add an extra layer of security to your UWF Google account by preventing and/or notifying you of unauthorized login to your UWF Google Account. For instructions on turning on 2-step verification, please see this link: Turn on 2-Step Verification
