Overview

Google Drive File Stream is an application that allows you to access your Google Drive as if it were a local drive on your computer. This application is available in ArgoApps to help you have access to your files anywhere on or off-campus.

Instructions

You may need to log into Google Drive File Stream upon first use. See the instructions on Google Drive for Desktop page for specific steps if needed.

Opening Google Drive File Stream

Google Drive File Stream should open automatically when you launch any app in ArgoApps.

If you need having problems with Google Drive File Stream or want to browse files within your Google drive then open the Google Drive app in ArgoApps.

Your Google Drive will appear in a Windows Explorer window.

Example of How to Access Google Drive in Another Program

If you are signed into Google Drive, you can access this drive letter within any app in ArgoApps. 

Saving to Google Drive

In this example, you would select "Google Drive File Stream (G:)".

FAQs

Yes. Please note that you will be unable to access any files with the following extensions:

  • .gsheet
  • .gdoc
  • .gdraw
  • .gform
  • .gslides

These files are accessible in the Google Drive web interface outside of ArgoApps.
