titleRegister for Courses

Register for Courses 

(if you have already registered skip this step)

Meet with your academic advisor to get registered for classes. Ensure to register for courses listed under the approved program listed in Purchase Order/Authorization.  After registering for classes, you will need to upgrade your MYUWF account to full access.  To do this, type My account in your search bar on my.uwf.edu account.  Click on Upgrade.  This can be done at least 2 hours after registering for classes.  Once the account has been updated, click the log-out button.  Once you log back into your account, you will have full access.  For additional information on this, go to:  https://confluence.uwf.edu/display/public/Upgrading+your+MyUWF+account+to+a+full-access+ArgoNet+account 

NOTE: Minors must be approved by your VR&E Counselor. Connect with them to ensure it is authorized and authorization has been provided to MVRC.

titleVA Enrollment Certification (ECF)

VA Enrollment Certification Form (ECF)

You will need to fill the ECF out through your my.uwf.edu account after you have registered for classes. The ECF must be completed every semester and whenever your class schedule changes.  To locate the form, type VA Enrollment Certification Form (ECF) in the search bar of your  my.uwf.edu account.  We cannot submit your certification to the VA until we receive this form from you.

Residency

If you are a non-Florida resident and living in the State of Florida, your residency status will be changed to temporary resident by the Registrar’s Office once we receive the documentation from your CH31 counselor and the VSOC adds your name to the CH31 in-state residency list.

If residency has not been updated, contact the MRVC office for assistance at 850-474-2550 or email us at mvrc@uwf.edu.

titleParking Permit/Pass

Parking Permit/Pass

Your parking permit is paid for by the VAVR&E. Once your classes have been certified by our office, the VSOC adds MVRC will add your name to the parking permit list.  You can then proceed to Parking Services in Bldg. 20W, Room 151 to get your permit.  Tell them you are a VA VR&E student and you have been added to the list. You will need to provide the make, model and tag # of your vehiclecomplete the VA Voc-Rehab Vehicle Registration form, here is the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe2tKwDr_kAi-rnp5YC2mD3YYp2ahliugrqRhzm_CJp7DG8Wg/viewform. Your permit will be issued to you.  The permit expires September 30th of every year.  You are responsible to get a new permit every year.  You will remain on the list until you graduate and/or you are no longer in the VR&E program.


Note: Please only fill out the form if you are Chapter 31 and have been told to fill out by the MVRC. If you are, you are allowed one type of permit only. (Either Car/Truck or Motorcycle). If you have multiple vehicles of one type please fill out a second form.

Once your classes have been certified, you can go to Bldg. 20W to get your ID card at the VA's expense.  Inform them that you are a VA Vocational Rehabilitation StudentCh. 31 VR&E student.

titleBooks and Supplies

Bookstore procedures:  Your classes are certified, an email was sent to the bookstore, notifying them you are a VR&E student. 

Books and Supplies

The VA pays for required tuition, fees, books, and supplies. Once we certify your classes, you will be able to get your books from the UWF bookstore. If you have not been provided with the bookstore procedures, please see the VSOC.Ordering Your Books: Visit uwfshop.com to add your books to the cart. Specify your preferred format (digital, mailed, or store pickup).
Receiving your Books:  After placing your order, you can visit the Bookstore in person with your UWF ID to pick up your books. If you do not have a physical ID card, you may present your 970# and Driver's License. a set amount for supplies. 

VA purchasing process:

  • PIN Format (if not receiving Financial Aid): The student’s PIN will be the first letter of their first name + first letter of their last name (both capitalized) + the last 4 digits of their student ID.
    Example: John Doe, Student ID 12345678 → PIN: JD5678

  • PIN Format (also receiving Financial Aid): Pin will be found under your MyUWF under My Account. Instructions: Bookstore Financial Aid Deferment Program
  • Students can add items to their bag and check out using this PIN to purchase:

    • Supplies

    • Textbooks

    • Technology

  • Students can choose either in-store pickup or shipping during checkout.

  • If students visit the store in person, they can go to uwfshop.com, enter their student ID, and view a list of their required course materials.

  • Physical books will be located on shelves organized by the author’s last name.

  • Digital books will be processed and rung up at the cash register.


Please note: VA does not cover Follett Access charges directly.  You will have temporary access to the materials, but the bookstore, will have to manually ring up an equivalent version of the course materials you are accessing through Canvas. Don’t worry—you won’t lose any work already completed. They are simply providing an alternate method of access.

You will receive an email from the bookstore with more details, and then you will be opted out of Follett Access for that course.

titleCompleting VA Form 28-8606 (Education Plan)

VA Form 28-8606

The VRC must provide an outline of the necessary steps for plan redevelopment using Notes from Counseling and Next Steps, Veterans Affairs form (VAF) 28-8606. The claimant must be provided with a copy of VAF 28-8606.

The VRC must document the plan redevelopment in an electronic case note to include the reason and necessary steps for redevelopment. Upon completion of plan redevelopment, the case will be returned to the appropriate case status.


Steps to completing VA Form 28-8606

  1. Name: Complete this by adding your First, Middle, and last name
  2. File Number: Your VA file number is often your Social Security Number (SSN). However, if you filed a claim a long time ago, it may be a separate eight or nine-digit number. You can find your VA file number on letters from the VA, often in the upper right-hand corner, or on your VA benefit checks. 
  3. Long Range Goal: This will be set with your VR&E Counselor
  4. Proposed Program: Set with VR&E Counselor
  5. Desired Program Begnning Date: Term start date

If you require your books to be mailed, you will need to send an email to bookstorevoucher@uwf.edu to request assistance with your order. In the email, you will need to include the following information: 
Subject line Chapter 31 VR&E book order

First and Last Name
Your phone number so they can contact you if they have questions
Your Shipping Address 

Provide VA Information: When contacting or visiting the Bookstore, inform them that you are using VR&E Chapter 31 and that your order was placed through UWFShop.com. The staff will assist you in processing your order, which may involve locating your books while you are present, so please be patient.
Receipt and Access Code: If you ordered a digital book, the PIN for the access code will be included on your receipt. Be sure to keep the receipt or take a photo of the PIN for future reference.
