    Housing Handbook

    The Housing & Residence Life Handbook contains our rules for living on campus. Please review to learn more about campus life.

    Noise Policy

    In order to maintain a living, learning environment in residential communities, an atmosphere conducive to study and sleep must exist. At no time should a resident’s noise level interfere with the academic community. For more Noise Policy information, see page 16 of the Housing & Residence Life Handbook.

    Courtesy Hours - Disruptive activities on residential grounds (indoor and outdoors) are prohibited. Residents are responsible for turning down sound systems or discontinuing noisy activity if requested to do so at any time. Courtesy hours are in effect at all times.

    Quiet Hours - During quiet hours, all noisy activity is prohibited. Quiet hours are enforced during the following periods, regardless of holidays or semester breaks.

    Housing Safety

    The safety of your student is our #1 priority.

    • Campus housing is exclusively for UWF students.
    • Entrances are only accessible via key card.
    • We have five layers of On-Call Support to assist your student 24 hours hrs a day every day.
    • There’s a dedicated campus police force and Blue Light stations to get in contact with UWF officers in case of an emergency.

    The AFJROTC Chaperones ArgoLife Residence Staff genuinely cares about your student’s success. We have a specially trained team of professional Resident Assistants, Hall Directors and Professional staff that are available to help your studentyou make a smooth transition. We want to see your student you learn, grow and become the best version of themselves yourself while they you stay on campus at UWF.

    General Tornado or Severe Weather Procedures

    Follow the General Tornado or Severe Weather Procedures in the event of a tornado or severe weather warning.

    Tropical Weather

    In the event of a hurricane or other tropical weather, the University may close, and all on-campus individuals may need to evacuate University Housing. The Tropical Weather Guide is provided as an aid in maintaining student and guest's personal safety and well being.

    Transportation

    Bus transportation will be provided for off-campus events and travel from/to the airport. The following no-cost resources are available to UWF students. You can also catch a ride using a transportation service, like Uber or Lyft.

    UWF Trolley

    During the summer, only the Express Trolley services the campus. Times and routes can be seen on the Express Trolley Schedule

    Weather - The UWF Trolley is operated under contract with Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT). In the event that a Tornado Warning is issued for Escambia County, the UWF trolley service, as well as other county vehicles, will be stopped until the Tornado Warning is lifted or severe weather has passed.

    Monitor the UWF Trolley webpage for specifics and updates. There is no cost to UWF students to use the trolley.

    ECAT Bus Service

    ECAT (Escambia County Area Transit) is a community transportation service with routes throughout the Pensacola area. As a UWF student, you can pick up one 10-Ride Bus Pass each week. See the ECAT Bus Service webpage for where to pick up your bus pass, program guidelines, and how ECAT services UWF.

    Weather - Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) operates ECAT Buses and the UWF Trolley. In the event that a Tornado Warning is issued for Escambia County, ECAT buses and the UWF trolley service will be stopped until the Tornado Warning is lifted or severe weather has passed.
