titleVeteran O/S Waiver Form - Veterans only

Veteran O/S Waiver Form

Established in s. 1009.26 (13), F.S., the C.W. “Bill” Young Veteran Tuition Waiver is a program that requires a state university, Florida College System institution, or career center to waive out-of-state fees for an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, the U.S. Reserve Forces, or the National Guard or any other student who is entitled and uses educational assistance provided by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and who physically resides in Florida while enrolled in the institution. Veteran students will remain eligible under the waiver as long as they are actively enrolled.

Be advised, you must be a UWF student, enrolled in courses, and living in Florida. (If you do not live in Florida and are using Ch. 33 Post 9/11 (100%), follow the steps to request Yellow Ribbon, instructions provided below)

To complete the form, follow these steps:

  • You will need to search “Veterans Veteran O/S Waiver Form” in your MyUWF account

  • Complete the form and upload the requested documentation. The documents that you will be required to upload are your Certificate of Eligibility or DD-214 and proof that you currently reside in Florida. List of required documents:
A screenshot highlights the requirements to upload DD-214 or Certificate of Eligibility, plus proof of residency within the state of Florida.

Important Note: The VA will not cover out-of-state fees, it is the students responsibility to submit an out-of-state waiver through their MyUWF account. Students must submit the waiver before the end of the semester they are enrolled. If completed after the end of the semester, the student will be liable for the out of state fees. Waivers are not retroactive.
