Veteran Dependent O/S Waiver FormDependents using VA education benefits are eligible for a waiver of out-of-state fees. The dependent must submit a copy of a recent Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and proof they physically reside in Florida. Dependents may only receive this waiver for semesters in which they use VA education benefits. The waiver application is a one-time process provided the student remains continuously enrolled. Be advised, you must be a UWF student and enrolled in courses to complete the form. To complete the form, follow these steps:
Students living in UWF Housing dorms may contact housing@uwf.edu for assistance on obtaining their signed contract. If you have not signed your contract yet, contact our office at mvrc@uwf.edu or call 850-474-2550 for assistance. Important Note: The VA will not cover out-of-state fees it is the students responsibility to submit an out-of-state waiver through their MyUWF account. Students must submit the waiver before the end of the semester they are enrolled. If completed after the end of the semester, the student will be liable for the out of state fees. |

VA Yellow Ribbon ProgramThe Yellow Ribbon GI Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post 9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows an institution of higher learning to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. The Yellow Ribbon program at UWF covers the out-of-state tuition fees for individuals eligible for the maximum benefit rate (100%) of the Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) residing outside the state of Florida and are considered non-Florida residents for tuition purposes. Yellow Ribbon will be granted to the first 250 qualified students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
