  1. Transition Point Assessment - Admission: Upon admission to the program, the advanced degree candidate will be provided a copy of the department guidelines that detail the program dispositions. Advanced degree candidates must sign this statement as evidence that they understand the policy as written.
  2. Within the first semester of graduate studies, each program applicant must complete within Tk20 the Professional Education Applicant Disposition Self-rating Scale to be admitted into any advanced degree program within the Department of Teacher Education and Educational Leadership. Students will not be able to register for a second semester of courses until they have completed the Professional Education Applicant Disposition Self-rating Scale in Tk20. The applicant must also have two outside raters complete a similar form, the Professional Education Applicant Disposition Rating Scale. Before students are admitted to the Department of Teacher Education and Educational Leadership, they must submit the names of two of professional references, along with their relationship to the applicant, phone number(s), and e-mail addresses. Within the student’s first semester of coursework, these individuals will be contacted by the Graduate Advising Office and provided access to the Professional Education Applicant Disposition Rating Scale.
  3. Transition Point Assessment - Graduation: Prior to graduation, advanced degree program candidates must complete a second and final Professional Education Applicant Self-Rating Scale in Tk20.
  4. Advanced degree program candidates will be informed if any concerns on disposition forms are noted. Anytime concerns or exemplary actions related to disposition assessment occur, the concern or exemplary action will be documented in the student’s file maintained in the Department of Teacher Education and Educational Leadership Graduate Advising Office.
  5. If satisfactory progress toward meeting the dispositions outcomes is not demonstrated, an advanced degree program candidate may not be allowed to register for additional courses until the identified issues are resolved.

  1. Upon admission to the program, the advanced degree candidate will be provided a copy of the department guidelines that detail the program dispositions. Advanced degree candidates must sign acknowledge this statement in the TEEL Graduate Admission Acknowledgement Form as evidence that they understand the policy as written. Copies of the guidelines will be available from the Department of Teacher Education and Educational Leadership Graduate Advising Office for all incoming students intending to pursue graduate education degrees at UWF. 
  2. Advanced degree program candidates will be informed that they must meet all criteria listed on the “Professional Education Assessment of Dispositions” form.
