  • Submit an application for graduation via MyUWF at the start of the semester in which you plan to graduate
  • Successfully complete all required coursework with a grade of “C” or higher (unless otherwise noted on degree plan)

  • Students enrolled in the Reading Education and Educational Leadership programs must complete a second and final Professional Education Applicant Disposition Self-rating Scale in Tk20

      • Three credit hours in a survey course, which can be satisfied by completing TSL 5085 ESOL Principles and Practices
    • Florida Reading Competency 2. Options for satisfying this requirement include:
      • Completion of RED 6060 Foundations of Middle and Secondary Literacy;
      • Northeast Florida Education Consortium (NEFEC);
      • BEACON Educator; or
      • School district in-service

Students are monitored throughout the program via performance on key assessments at predetermined transition points. Students cannot move on to a transition point prior to meeting all requirements for the previous transition point. Students may view transition points and their progress in their Tk20 accountthe departmental assessment system.

Students should consult with an advisor and their official degree audit when selecting courses each semester. In addition, suggested course rotations have been developed for planning purposes.

Assessment

Students enrolled in the M.Ed. programs in Reading and Educational Leadership are required to purchase and activate a seven-year subscription to the departmental assessment system , Tk20, by the first week of their during the first semester of coursework. Seven-year subscriptions are available directly at uwf.tk20.com or through the UWF campus bookstore (Student Access Kits – ISBN 0-9774408-1-8). It is important to use a UWF-issued email address when activating an account.Students will be provided the purchase information upon admission. 

The assessment system is utilized in the submission of key assignmentsTk20 is utilized in the submission of key assignments, completion of the Professional Education Applicant Rating Scale, monitoring of student progress on transition points and toward degree completion, data collection and management, communication of school news, announcement of events, and many other critical functions. Technical questions related to Tk20 should be addressed to tk20@uwf.edu. 

Students Instructions for Completing the Professional Education Applicant Disposition Self-rating Scale. Students should complete the Professional Education Applicant Disposition Self-rating Scale by the fifth week of the first semester.

  1. Log into Tk20 at uwf.tk20.com  
  2. Click on the “Applications” tab
  3. Click “Create”
  4. Choose “Master’s Degree Program Applicant Self-rating Scale” from the drop-down box
  5. Follow on-screen instructions to complete the scale and click “Submit” when complete

Note  Note that the Professional Education Applicant Disposition Self-rating Scale cannot be accessed and completed until the student has purchased and activated a subscription to Tk20.the departmental assessment system
