Overview

This guide is intended to tell you the basics of completing Golf Cart and Motorized Utility Vehicle Safety and to provide links to additional information.

General Info

Why do we need Motorized Cart Safety Training?

All motorized carts must be operated safely on University property to reduce accidents, incidents, and injuries related to the operation of motorized carts. The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for providing ongoing education and resources related to the safe operation of motorized carts. EH&S has put together:

Who needs training? How often?

All UWF employees that have the potential to operate a motorized cart (golf cart or utility vehicle) must complete the Motorized Cart Training once. Training must be completed before operating a motorized cart on UWF property.

How do I take the training?

Please begin the training by navigating to the Golf Cart and Motorized Utility Vechicle Safety Training page.

Responsibilities

  • review materials and take quiz to successfully complete training
  • obtain certification before operating any golf cart or motorized utility vehicle
  • obey all operating procedures (as laid out in training and the procedures below)
  • perform annual inspection and submit annual inspection form (as laid out in training and the procedures below)
  • consult materials as needed in their job functions

How do I obtain this Certification?

The training is offered in an online-only format through SCOOP

  • Login to SCOOP
  • Navigate to the "Eligible" tab
  • Scroll down to "UWF Golf Cart and Motorized Utility Vehicle Operator" and click the book icon
  • Follow the training link
  • Read through the content
  • Return to SCOOP and click the "Training and Acknowledgement of Responsibilities" module listed in the appropriate section
  • Pass the quiz

The training can be reviewed at any point after completing it.
