Overview

This procedure allows eLearning sandbox courses to be activated so students can be enrolled. This article should not be used by the Continuing Education department or for courses maintained by the Registrar.

Instructions

Step 1

Review Creating a development course in eLearning from Classmate to create a Sandbox course.

Step 2

Fill out the needs assessment by clicking the following link:

  • What is the purpose of the course?
  • Are students paying to be enrolled in this course?
  • Is this course already affiliated with the Division of Continuing Education?
  • What type of students will be enrolled in the course?
  • What population of students should be enrolled in the course?
    • Please don't provide individual names at this time. This question is meant to get a general idea of what the students in the course have in common. (e.g., All are freshmen in ABC program)
  • What is the course start date?
    • This is the first day the course should be available for students to access.
  • What is the course end date?
    • This is the date that the course should be closed and no longer accessible to students. Therefore, end date should be after the period the course should be open for makeup work or for students to view grades, etc.
  • If you haven't already, create a sandbox course using the Classmate app in MyUWF.
  • Will people need to be enrolled or removed from the course after the initial course activation and enrollments?
  • Approximately how many students will be in the course?
  • Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about the course or your eLearning needs?


Step 3

The ITS Help Desk will process your request within 3 to 5 business days if your course is eligible for activation.
