NotebookLM is an AI-powered tool designed to enhance understanding and synthesis of complex information from uploaded sources. It uses AI, particularly Google's Gemini models, to analyze and synthesize information from papers uploaded by the user. NotebookLM acts as a "virtual research assistant" that helps users make sense of their information. This allows users to quickly summarize, extract key information, and answer questions based on their own content. |
With any type of AI-powered tool, do not provide any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) or other protected student data into NotebookLM. |
Users can upload various document formats, including Google Docs, PDFs, websites, YouTube videos, Google Slides, and Word documents, providing concise summaries of lengthy documents to help users brainstorm and generate new ideas based on their notes. NotebookLM can generate summaries, outlines, study guides, and audio overviews, and it also answers questions grounded in the user's specific sources, providing inline citations for verification. The platform offers features such as customizable chat settings and the ability to create and organize notes based on sources, plus a more powerful NotebookLM Plus option with higher limits and advanced sharing options.
