Veteran O/S Waiver Form

Established in s. 1009.26 (13), F.S., the C.W. “Bill” Young Veteran Tuition Waiver is a program that requires a state university, Florida College System institution, or career center to waive out-of-state fees for an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, the U.S. Reserve Forces, or the National Guard or any other student who is entitled and uses educational assistance provided by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and who physically resides in Florida while enrolled in the institution. Veteran students will remain eligible under the waiver as long as they are actively enrolled. 

Be advised, you must be a UWF student and enrolled in courses to complete the form. To complete the form, follow these steps:

  • You will need to search “Veterans O/S Waiver Form” in your MyUWF account

  • Complete the form and upload the requested documentation. The documents that you will be required to upload are your Certificate of Eligibility or DD-214 and proof that you currently reside in Florida. List of required documents:

Important Note: The VA will not cover out-of-state fees it is the students responsibility to submit an out-of-state waiver through their MyUWF account. Students must submit the waiver before the end of the semester they are enrolled. If completed after the end of the semester, the student will be liable for the out of state fees. 




Veteran O/S Waiver Form

Dependents using VA education benefits are eligible for a waiver of out-of-state fees. The dependent must submit a copy of a recent Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and proof they physically reside in Florida. Dependents may only receive this waiver for semesters in which they use VA education benefits. The waiver application is a one-time process provided the student remains continuously enrolled.

  • Please complete the form and upload the requested documentation. The documents that you will be required to upload are your Certificate of Eligibility (must be issued within the last year) and proof that you currently reside in Florida. I have provided a list of accepted documents:


Students living in UWF Housing dorms may contact housing@uwf.edu for assistance on obtaining their signed contract. If you have not signed your contract yet, contact our office at mvrc@uwf.edu or call 850-474-2550 for assistance.
