ALERT - URGENT

[7/19/24 4:00pm]

What’s our status?

We have recovered:

  • Mission critical functions / offices
  • ITS supported eClassrooms and departmental classrooms scheduled for Summer classes

What happens on Monday?

We realize that many computers are still impacted and that Monday may be challenging for those returning to work.

If you have an inoperable computer, make sure you submit a ticket and please include the physical location of the computer and the asset tag or service tag if possible. Please do not submit multiple tickets (as this will cause further delays in support).

Where can you go to get work done if you’re impacted?

In collaboration with the University Libraries, ITS is offering the following accommodation options if you find yourself without a computer:

First come first served:

Library

  • 32 / Pace Library (130+ open-floor lab computers available for use)
  • 32 / Pace Library (80+ laptops available for checkout)
  • FWB / Building 8 Library (25+ open-floor lab computers available for use)
  • FWB / Building 8 Library (5+ laptops available for checkout)

Information Technology Services

  • 79 / 179 (18 computers available)
  • 79 / 180 (26 computers available)
  • 79 / 171 (42 computers available)

[7/19/24 6:00am]

We're experiencing a worldwide issue with "Crowdstrike" antivirus on all Windows computers, causing an endless boot-loop requiring manual fixes (~20 mins each at least). This impacts many employees, as encryption complicates the process. Airports and businesses globally are affected.

We've prioritized life-safety and critical systems are operational (e.g., police, Banner servers). Most office staff will be without working computers until resolved. Suggest advising non-essential personnel to stay home today to lessen campus impact. IT staff are on foot addressing the issue but are limited in number.

⚠️ IF YOUR COMPUTER IS IMPACTED please report it via an ITS Help Desk Ticket. Please include the physical location of the computer and if possible the asset tag or service tag

If you perform a critical business function (or life-safety) and your computer is down because of this issue, please work with your Department Head or Dean to enter a prioritization request to ITS.
