Panopto recordings can be embedded into the following Rich Text areas of your Canvas course:
Embedding Panopto videos with the Rich Text is the most efficient option for sharing videos with students. This method ensures that students will be able to access videos even after courses are copied. Teachers, TAs and Course Designers can embed Panopto recordings in a Canvas course. Here's how:
You may also choose to share videos in other ways.
Link to a specific recording as an External Tool within a Canvas Module. For example you can create modules for course topics that include readings, videos, discussions, assignments, or other materials for that topic.
If your videos are stored in a folder that isn't associated with the course you want to use them in, you can provide a link to the specific Folder in your Canvas Modules.
If you haven't already, enable Panopto in your Canvas course by following the instructions above. Teachers, TAs and Course Designers can create Panopto playlists.

Teachers have the ability to add quiz questions to any Panopto recording at any point during playback. The Panopto recording has to be uploaded first before adding quiz questions. View this 30 minute video on creating quizzes.
The following steps create an assignment folder and a Canvas assignment that accepts video submissions. These videos can be accessed and graded via Speedgrader. Only the instructor can view videos submitted to assignments. This process works for both video and audio submissions.
An Assignment Folder is a subfolder that shares its user list with its parent folder but gives the users some additional privileges. Assignment Folders enable Viewer users in their parent folder to create and manage their own content while preventing them from viewing other users' content that has not been explicitly shared or made public.
View this Panopto Guide for details and screenshots on how to create the assignment folder, allow users in an assignment folder to view other users' content, and closing an assignment folder.
Students can use this illustrated guide to submitting video to Canvas assignments for more support. Here is a video for students assignment submissions, including video discussions as well.
That's it! After students submit, you can use Speedgrader to view and grade your students' video submissions. Learn how to view and grade video submissions in Speedgrader.
