Overview

Some software applications such as Remote Desktop (for UWF employees only) may require information such as the computer name you are currently logged into. Below are instructions on how to find the computer name for your machine.

Instructions

  1. Right-click on the Start menu icon.
    Windows 10:
    Windows 10 start

    Windows 11:
    Windows 11 start

  2. Click System in the menu provided.
    Windows 10:
    Windows 10 System

  3. Look for Device name.
    Windows 10:
    Windows 10 about info

    Windows 11:
    Windows 11 about info


  • Click the Apple icon (top left) < About This Mac
    'About This Mac' option in the Apple Icon menu
  • Choose More Info...

  • The computer name is listed in the first row.
