In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Title II of the ADA, this policy ensures that students with disabilities have equal access to assessments by providing reasonable testing accommodations that remove disability-related barriers without altering the fundamental nature of the exam. The purpose of extended time on exams and quizzes is to ensure that a student's performance reflects their understanding of the material rather than their processing speed. Providing additional time serves as an adjustment for specific disabilities, allowing for a more accurate assessment of the student's knowledge and skills.
