Overview

All First-Time-In-College (FTIC) students living in university housing are required to participate in the Mandatory Meal Plan their first two semesters on campus (summer residence not included). The chosen plan may be upgraded or downgraded, within the same options, during the first two weeks after the start of classes or after they purchase the plan, whichever is later. The second semester, the plan will default to the plan the student selected at the beginning of the first semester (first selected at UWF Housing sign up), even if the plan was changed during the given time.

Meal Plans allow the student to enjoy up to the specified number of guaranteed meals each week during the semester. Meal plan swipes may only be used in the Nautilus Market. Each time you use a meal it is subtracted from your balance. One meal swipe is allowed per meal period (does not apply to Unlimited or Block Plans). There are three meal periods on weekdays and two meal periods on Saturday and Sunday. The weekly meal total resets each Sunday, and unused meals do not roll over to the next week.

To view the mandatory meal plans for the current academic year, visit UWF Dining Services > Meal Plans > For Residents.

FAQs

Payment is due at the same time as payment for housing and tuition.

No, but you may add funds to your Nautilus Card declining balance account via MyUWF (convenience fee applies), or at the Commons Service Desk (no convenience fee). These funds can then be used anywhere on campus, including Dining Services and they roll over from semester to semester.

Each semester, meal and block plans begin the first day of Housing check-in and run through the last day of finals for that semester.

The mandatory meal plan can apply to some Transfer Students.

A student’s status as FTIC is not the same as a classification indicating academic progress.

“First Time In College” (FTIC) students are defined as students who have earned a standard high school diploma from a regionally accredited high school or its equivalent and who have earned fewer than 12 semester hours of transferable college credit since graduating from high school, as evaluated by UWF.

To determine if you are an FTIC student, please contact the Undergraduate Admissions office at 850.474.2230 or  admissions@uwf.edu

Yes, you can change your meal or block plan. Contact the Nautilus Card office (idcard@uwf.edu or 850.474.3324) during the first 2 weeks after the start of classes or after the date you purchased the plan, whichever is later.
