This page provides information and instructions on enrolling, accessing, and obtaining proof of completion for the Essentials of Digital Instruction Course. 

Overview

The UWF Essentials of Digital Instruction course presents the basic things you need to know when teaching online -- focusing on brief text and short instructional videos. The course content includes Getting Started with the Basics, Accessibility of Instructional Materials, Technology Tools for Online Pedagogy, and Support and Resources. A Proof of Completion email will be sent to faculty at the end of the course. Completion of the course also documents faculty as completing the Florida BOG Professional Development Specific to Online Teaching requirement. If you have questions about the course, please email facultysupport@uwf.edu. Enrolling in and Accessing the Essentials of Digital Instruction Course

Step 1

Log in to MyUWF.

Step 2

Search for Classmate.

'Click on the Classmate' app

Step 3

Click on the eLearning tab in the top left. 

Click on the 'eLearning' button in Classmate

Step 4

Click on the Self-Enrollment tab. 

Click on the 'Self-Enrollment' tab

Step 5

Click on Enroll in the Essentials of Digital Instruction box. 

Click on the Enroll button under the Essentials of Digital Instruction section

Step 6

Go to your Canvas Dashboard

Step 7

The Essentials of Digital Instruction Course will be located on the dashboard. 

Click on the 'Essentials of Digital Instruction' course on the Canvas Dashboard

Step 8

Click on the course and begin.

Step 9

The last module in the course provides a link to a Course Feedback Survey and documents the completion of the course. Once the survey is complete an email will be sent to the faculty member and the faculty member will be added to the list of those who have met the Online Specific Faculty Development requirement. 

Click on the Proof of Completion survey link.
