If you experience issues with calling, voicemail, physical desk phones, headset configuration, or the Zoom Workplace application during the transition, feel free to join the support session to connect directly with an ITS team member. FAQs

Ensure that you have installed and signed in to the Zoom Workplace application using your UWF credentials. If you have been assigned a desk phone or headset, verify that it is connected and functioning properly.

Phone number migrations will begin on Tuesday, June 16 at approximately 10:30am. Most users will experience little to no interruption in service; however, brief service interruptions may occur while numbers are being ported.

No. The way you make and receive calls may be changing, but your previously assigned phone number remains the same, unless you have been specifically notified otherwise.

No problem. Active calls will not disconnect during the cutover. Once that call ends, any new incoming calls will begin ringing through Zoom Phone.

First, sign out of and back into the Zoom Workplace application. If the issue persists, restart your computer and verify that you have an internet connection. If you continue to experience problems, join the live support session or contact the ITS Help Desk.

Yes. A headset is not required to use Zoom Phone. You can make and receive calls using your workstation as long as your computer has a functioning speaker and microphone. You may also use the Zoom Workplace mobile application or an assigned desk phone, if applicable.

Yes. You can install the Zoom Workplace mobile application on your smartphone or tablet and sign in using your UWF account to make and receive calls.

Existing voicemail messages will not automatically transfer to Zoom Phone. Users should save any voicemail messages they wish to retain prior to the migration.

The Zoom Phone team may have visited your office while you were away in preparation for UWF's phone service migration to Zoom Phone.

Before June 16: Continue using your current phone.
Starting June 16: Use Zoom Phone.

If you found a Zoom Phone calling card in your office, find the picture below that best matches your situation.

I have BOTH an old phone and a new Zoom desk phone.

Good news! Your new Zoom desk phone is set up and ready for June 16.

Keep using your current phone until June 16. Starting June 16, you'll use your new Zoom desk phone with the same university phone number.

What should I do?

Before June 16

  • Continue using your current phone
  • Set up your voicemail on your new Zoom desk phone
  • Familiarize yourself with your new Zoom desk phone

Starting June 16

  • Begin using your new Zoom desk phone
  • Your university phone number will automatically move to your new Zoom desk phone
  • Leave your old phone on your desk for collection


My old phone is gone.

Good news! Your university phone number will be moved to Zoom Phone. Starting June 16, you'll use the Zoom app on your computer or mobile device to make and receive calls using the same phone number.

What should I do?

  • Sign in to the Zoom app on your computer and/or mobile device
  • Set up your voicemail
  • Familiarize yourself with Zoom Phone
  • Beginning June 16, make and receive calls on Zoom Phone using your university phone number

If you were expecting a desk phone, contact your department's Zoom Phone Department POC (Point of Contact)



I only have a new Zoom desk phone.

Good news! Your new Zoom desk phone may be ready to use.

Your university phone number has likely already been moved to Zoom Phone, which is why your old phone is no longer present. You should be able to use your new Zoom desk phone immediately with the same university phone number (or on June 16th).

If you are a new employee, welcome! Your Zoom desk phone should already be ready to use.

What should I do? 

  • Complete any remaining Zoom Phone setup tasks such as setting up your voicemail
  • Familiarize yourself with your new Zoom desk phone
  • Begin using your Zoom desk phone
I don't see my situation listed.

If others in your area received calling cards and you did not, one of these is probably true:

  • You do not currently have a university phone

  • Your phone setup requires additional work

  • We were not able to access your office when we visited
  • There may be a delay in migrating your university phone number to Zoom

If you currently use a Siemens or Cisco phone, there’s still a good chance we’ll be visiting your area around June 16th.
