Read more on eligibility requirements here: https://www.va.gov/careers-employment/vocational-rehabilitation/

Residency

If you are a non-Florida resident and living in the State of Florida, your residency status will be changed to temporary resident by the Registrar’s Office once we receive the documentation from your CH31 counselor and the VSOC adds your name to the CH31 in-state residency list.

If residency has not been updated, contact the MRVC office for assistance at 850-474-2550 or email us at mvrc@uwf.edu.

Parking Permit/Pass

Your parking permit is paid for by the VR&E. Once your classes have been certified by our office, the MVRC will add your name to the parking permit list.  You can then proceed to Parking Services in Bldg. 20W, Room 151 to get your permit.  Tell them you are a VA VR&E student and you have been added to the list. You will need to provide the make, model and tag # of your vehicle. Your permit will be issued to you.  The permit expires September 30th of every year.  You are responsible to get a new permit every year.  You will remain on the list until you graduate and/or you are no longer in the VR&E program.

UWF Student ID Card

Once your classes have been certified, you can go to Bldg. 20W to get your ID card at the VA's expense.  Inform them that you are a Ch. 31 VR&E student.

Bookstore procedures:  Your classes are certified, an email was sent to the bookstore, notifying them you are a VR&E student.

Books and Supplies

The VA pays for required tuition, fees, books, and a set amount for supplies.

Ordering Your Books: Visit https://www.bkstr.com/westfloridastore/shop/textbooks-and-course-materials, type in Student ID# and Enter. Click on Find courses. Select books and add to the cart.  Create an account (use your UWF account info). Select delivery method (digital, mailed, or store pickup). Select Financial Aid/Dual Enrollment/VA. Type in your Student ID# and Bookstore PIN.  Your bookstore PIN is your first initial of your first name, your first initial of your last name and the last 4 numbers of your student ID#, example RB1234 (the PIN# is case sensitive. Must be in capital letters).  Click on Find Accounts.  Select VA Books and Confirm.

Digital Books:  If your classes are online and your books are digital, you will not be placing an order at the bookstore.  The Bookstore will automatically opt out all VA students from the Follett Access program—no action is required from the students to complete this step. After opting them out, the Bookstore will process a transaction on their behalf for the equivalent course material(s) they were previously enrolled in through Follett Access.  Once the transaction is complete, students will receive an email (or multiple emails, depending on the number of courses) sent to their UWF.edu address with instructions on how to access their digital course materials. The Bookstore will also retain records of all Follett Access-related transactions and receipts for future reference if needed. For more info, visit bkstr.com/westfloridastore/help-faq/access

Receiving your Books:  After placing your order, you can visit the Bookstore in person with your UWF ID to pick up your books. If you do not have a physical ID card, you may present your 970# and Driver's License.

You can only choose this option if you do not live close to the bookstore:

If you require your books to be mailed, you will need to send an email to bookstorevoucher@uwf.edu to request assistance with your order. In the email, you will need to include the following information:
Subject line Chapter 31 VR&E book order
In the email:
UWF 970#,
First and Last Name
Your phone number so they can contact you if they have questions
Your Shipping Address

Provide VA Information: When contacting or visiting the Bookstore, inform them that you are using VR&E Chapter 31 and that your order was placed through UWFShop.com. The staff will assist you in processing your order, which may involve locating your books while you are present, so please be patient.
