Trip Dates
Start: Wednesday, May 3, 2023
End: Sunday, May 14, 2023
Flights
We will depart and return to Pensacola Regional Airport. All participants will travel as a group on the same roundtrip flights.
- If you do not live locally, please make arrangements to be in Pensacola at least 24 hours before departure on May 3th. Exceptions will not be made.
Airline ticket purchases are dependent upon information obtained in your Study Abroad Application and valid passport. Make sure you have both of these items by the deadlines listed in the Critical Dates & Deadlines calendar.
Cost
Total cost: $2,000* program fee + $1,369.50 tuition ($3,369.50 total)
- Program fee includes: airfare, hotel accommodations, local transportation, excursions, cultural activities, mandatory international health insurance fees, welcome reception, and farewell dinner.
- Program fee does not include: course tuition ($1,369.50); meals (appx $250); personal expenses and incidentals (appx $250, depending on your personal activities and purchases).
*Actual program fee is $3,000. Students can qualify for at least $1,000 in scholarships or travel waivers to bring the cost down to $2,000. More information about these funding opportunities is forthcoming.
Eligibility Requirements
MBA students must meet the following requirements:
- Eligible to take ECP 6705 Advanced Managerial Economics. This requires completion of GEB 5878 & GEB 5930 with a 'C' or higher.
- Be in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or higher)
Course registration is dependent upon the status of your Study Abroad Application and compliance with Study Abroad Health Insurance requirements.

Submit a Study Abroad Application
To get started, apply by completing a UWF Faculty-Led Study Abroad Application. Applications are due by November 10, 2022.
Attend Mandatory Meetings
Attendance for all meetings is mandatory.
- Local students must attend all meetings in-person, unless Dr. Hawkins has given you special permission to join via Zoom.
- Non-local students in the Online MBA program must attend all meetings via Zoom.
Make On-Time Payments
The cost of the trip can be paid in five installment payments.
Installment deadlines

- Fri, Jan 20, 2023 - $400
- Fri, Feb 17, 2023 - $400
- Fri, Mar 17, 2023 - $400*
*Students who have neither applied for, nor been awarded, a scholarship or travel waiver will be required to pay a fifth payment of $1,400 on March 17, 2023.

Course Info
Unfortunately, no.
No. You will complete about half of the class during the trip. The other half will be completed after.
Covid-19
As of Oct 5, 2022, there are no Covid-19 travel restrictions for U.S. citizens traveling to and from the United States, Germany, France, or Switzerland. The following exceptions do still apply:
- United States: All nonimmigrant, non-citizen air travelers to the United States are required to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding an airplane to the United States. More information >>
- Germany: Travelers from all countries, except China, can enter Germany for all purposes, including tourism. Residents of China will need to demonstrate an important need to travel (due to reciprocity).
- Persons entering Germany who have spent time in an RKI-designated virus variant area in the 10 days prior to entry are required to submit a digital registration on entry.
This information is provided as a courtesy. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Although we feel confident the trip will move ahead ad planned, we can't be 100% certain. We will continue with trip planning and preparation, while regularly monitoring changes caused by Covid-19. You will be notified of any changes that may impact this trip.
If you make payments and the trip is canceled, you will be refunded.
Financial Aid
Please direct questions related to using military benefits to the Military & Veterans Resource Center (MVRC).
Please direct questions related to using student loans, scholarships, grants, and any other form of financial aid to your Financial Aid Counselor.
International Travel
Yes. The University of West Florida requires that all UWF students and programs going abroad have Study Abroad Insurance coverage.
Insurance costs are included in the cost of the trip.

Yes. If you do not currently have a passport, we urge you to start the passport application process ASAP. You will need it well before the trip begins for things like airline tickets and travel insurance.
According to the State Department, current wait times are as follows:
- Routine processing: 8 to 11 weeks
- Expedite processing (for an additional $60): 5 to 7 weeks
A visa is not required for U.S. citizens.
