Parts of Term (POT) are the designated dates within a full semester or term.

Courses that begin/end in different parts of term may have different add/drop periods that could potentially affect tuition charges/refunds issued to students.

Due to the varying beginning and ending dates of POT 5-9, Web Registration for these terms will be the first 7 days of the month of the PoT. To withdrawal from a POT 5-9 course, contact registrar@uwf.edu

  • For example, Fall POT 5 begins in August. Web registration will available through the Aug. 7.  After that time, Registration must be completed by the Office of the Registrar with the Registration Drop/Add Form or an approved staff member.

If you're registering for Parts of Term 5-9 or 90, registration can be completed beginning with the drop/add period for Part of Term 1. See the Academic Calendar for Part of Term 1 dates.


POT 1= Full semester (16 weeks in Fall and Spring, 12 weeks in Summer)

POT 2= First half of semester (8 weeks in Fall and Spring, 6 weeks in Summer)

POT 3= Second half of semester (8 weeks in Fall and Spring, 6 weeks in Summer)

POT 4= Summer 8 week part of term

POT 5-9 are used for varying dates that do not fit into other Parts of Term. 

5= course starts during first month of term (can end at any time and may vary in length).

6= course starts during second month of term  (can end at any time and may vary in length)

7= course starts during third month of term (can end at any time and may vary in length)

8= course starts during fourth month of term (can end at any time and may vary in length)

9= courses starting during the fifth month of term (only applicable in the fall term) (can end at any time and may vary in length)
