  1. If you have not already done so, upgrade your Argonet account. *Note, as part of the Career Readiness Module, you will be completing your Handshake profile. You will have access to Handshake approximately 7 days after you activate your ArgoNet account. 
  2. Register for the free online Career Readiness online moduleModule:
    1. Log in to Classmate using your MyUWF username and loginpassword.
    2. Click Self-Enrollment.
    3. Locate the Career Readiness Module (for new students) course, and Enrollenroll.
  3. Complete the module. From the Career Readiness Module:

    , and select the Career Readiness Module
    1. (and where the Career Readiness Module is located).
    2. Alternatively, again, after you have self-enrolled, you can access Canvas directly from your MyUWF page.
    3. Once in MyUWF, select the course titled "Career Readiness Module (for New Students).
    4. Follow the instructions to advance through the course.
    5. After you progress through all five sections of the Career Readiness Module, you must answer YES to the "Affirmation Statement" and then click "Submit Quiz" to officially complete the course and satisfy this requirement.

The module will take about 45 minutes to complete. All new undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to complete the Career Readiness module prior to orientation. Doing so will ensure your major and course selection match your goals and that you meet the requirements to enroll in future terms.

  • Who is required to complete the Career Readiness Module? All undergraduate students who are new to UWF for Fall 2022 and beyond. (both freshmen and transfer students). 
  • When should I complete the Career Readiness Module? It is advised that all new undergraduate students complete the Career Readiness Module as soon as they are admitted to UWF and have upgraded their Argonet Account. Failure to complete the module in time will result in a hold preventing course registration.
  • How long does the module take to complete? The module will take takes most students about 45 minutes (or less) to complete.
  • What happens if I make it to the Affirmation Statement, but do not answer yes? Answering No to the "Affirmation Statement" will not satisfy this requirement. To complete the Career Readiness Module and satisfy this requirement, you must answer Yes to the "Affirmation Statement" and click "Submit Quiz." If you feel that you were not provided with the information that the "Affirmation Statement" asks you about, please contact the Office of Career Development & Community Engagement at career@uwf.edu, so that we can ensure you receive this information.
  • What happens if I don't complete the module?  Students who do not complete the module will have a CR or "hard" Career Readiness hold placed on their account, preventing registration for future semesters. Once the module has been completed, the hold will be lifted, and students will be eligible to register for classes.
  • What happens if I leave Canvas before I finish the module? Your progress will be saved, however, you will not automatically return to where you left off. You will reenter the module at the very beginning, but it should only take a few moments to get back to the section you were last in.
  • I have a CP hold in my Registration Menu. What does this mean? A Career Planning (CP) hold is added to all new undergraduate students' accounts (Fall 2022 admits and beyond). Once the Career Readiness module Module has been completed, the CP hold will automatically be removed from your account. student accounts. 
  • I have a CR hold in my Registration Menu. What does this mean? A Career Readiness (CR) hold is a "hard" hold that prevents course registration. Students will receive this hold if they do not complete the Career Readiness Module in time. Once a student completes the Career Readiness Module, the CR hold will automatically be removed from their account.
  • I have questions and/or I am encountering technical issues with the module. Whom do I contact? For technical issues or questions about completing the Career Readiness module, contact the Office of Career Development & Community Engagement (CDCE) at career@uwf.edu or 850-474-2254.
  • I cannot access Handshake. What should I do? Handshake accounts become active a few days after you activate your ArgoNet account. If you activated your ArgoNet account more than 3 days a week ago and still do not have access to Handshake, contact the Office of Career Development & Community Engagement at career@uwf.edu.
  • What other career planning resources are available to me? If you need assistance choosing a major or career, the Office of Career Development & Community Engagement can help! Visit this page  Visit the CDCE website to learn more, or you can schedule an appointment with a Career Coach through your Handshake account (accessed through MyUWF and available after you complete the Career Readiness module).
