Why do we need Motorized Cart Safety Training?

All golf carts and motorized carts must be operated safely on University property to reduce accidents, incidents, and injuries related to the operation of golf carts/ motorized carts. The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for providing ongoing education and resources related to the safe operation of golf carts and other motorized carts. EH&S has put together:

• an online training certification course

• ;
• Operating Procedures; and 
• an Annual Inspection Procedure
• UWF Motorized Cart Acknowledgment Form

Who needs training? How often?

All UWF employees that have the potential to operate a motorized cart (golf cart or utility vehicle) must complete the Motorized Cart Training once and training . Training must be completed before operating a motorized cart on UWF property.

Procedures

Each Department must conduct an Annual Golf Cart/ Utility Vehicle Inspection Checklist(make this a link)  and submit a copy of the inspection to EH&S B95 or send via email to nmcdonald@uwf.edu or psparks@uwf.edu

Each year, employees must complete and sign the UWF Motorized Cart Safety Acknowledgment Form 

How do I take the training?

Please begin the training by navigating to the Motorized Cart Safety Training page.

Responsibilities

• sign the UWF Motorized Cart Safety Acknowledgment Form annually and maintain within the department 
• review materials and take quiz to successfully complete training
• obtain certification before operating any motorized cart
• obey all operating procedures (as laid out in training and the procedures below)
• perform annual inspection and submit annual inspection form (as laid out in training and the procedures below)
• consult materials as needed in their job functions
