All new departmental, employee, and student ArgoNet accounts created after May 4, 2017, will no longer include a web drives.  For departmental and employee Web (I) drives that already existed before December 4, 2017, those drives will no longer be accessible from the Internet in their current location.  This change ensures that UWF takes all necessary measures to maintain ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) compliance. Content published to the CMS, Google Sites/Drive, or Confluence will not be affected.

My departmental or employee Web (I) drive existed before May 4, 2017.  Now it's after December 4, 2017, and I can't access my Web (I) drive.  What happened to the files on that drive?

Files on the Web (I) drive were moved to your Home (H) drive if you did not elect to retain web publishing.

My Web (I) drive no longer exists, but I still would like to use one for web publishing. Can an exception be made?

You must contact the ITS Help Desk to request that your Web (I) drive be accessible from the Internet at the new location.

You may start accessing your content immediately at the new web address, after your request has been approved.  The new web address for your web drive would be pages.uwf.edu/username (Example: pages.uwf.edu/jdoe).

How can I check what's on my Web (I) drive?

The Web (I) drive works like a folder on your computer, except anything saved on the folder is posted to the Internet. The Web (I) drive is available on campus computers when you sign in using your ArgoNet credentials. To locate the Web (I) drive from a campus computer, simply click on the Windows Explorer icon in your task bar. From the window that opens, click the directory titled "Web_username [Argofiler] (I:)" on the left side of the window. You will then be taken to your Web (I) drive. From off campus or using a non-Windows operating system, you may access your Web (I) drive after logging into eDesktop and using the instructions above.

Will students continue to have access to Web (I) drives?

Future students will not receive Web (I) drives as a part of their ArgoNet file storage. Students who already have ArgoNet accounts will be able to keep their Web (I) drives.
