The current transition in presidential leadership at UWF is being handled with care and purpose. On December 10, 2015, the Board of Trustees Chair Lewis Bear, Jr. named a Presidential Search Committee to assume the task of searching for Dr. Judith A. Bense is planning to retire December 31, 2016. The UWF Board of Trustees is charged with identifying a dynamic and competent individual to assume the leadership of the University of West Florida. It is ultimately the Board of Trustees’ responsibility to hire the new UWF president, however, a successful search process must include input from the Board and university constituents, namely the alumni, faculty, students, staff, community, administrators and other University supporters.
