The Board of Trustees announces the search for the 6th president of the University of West Florida and invites nominations, expressions of interest and applications for the distinctive position of University President.
The current transition in presidential leadership at UWF is being handled with care and purpose. On December 10, 2015, the Board of Trustees Chair Lewis Bear, Jr. named a Presidential Search Committee to assume the task of searching for Dr. Judith A. Bense is planning to retire December 31, 2016. The UWF Board of Trustees is charged with identifying a dynamic and competent individual to assume the leadership of the University of West Florida. Meeting updates and announcements pertaining to the Presidential Search will be maintained within these pages.

Chairman Bear appointed BOT Vice Chair, Mort O’Sullivan to chair the 20-member committee.
It is ultimately the Board of Trustees’ responsibility to hire the new UWF president, however, a successful search process must include input from the Board and university constituents, namely the alumni, faculty, students, staff, community, administrators and other University supporters.
