Noise Policy

In order to maintain a living, learning environment in residential communities, an atmosphere conducive to study and sleep must exist. At no time should a resident’s noise level interfere with the academic community. For more Noise Policy information, see page 16 of the Housing & Residence Life Handbook.

Courtesy Hours - Disruptive activities on residential grounds (inside and outside) are prohibited. Residents must discontinue noisy activity if requested to at any time. Courtesy hours are in effect at all times.

Quiet Hours - During quiet hours, all noisy activity is prohibited. Quiet hours are enforced during the following periods, regardless of holidays or semester breaks.

Sunday-Thursday10:00 PM - 8:00 AM
Friday-Saturday12:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Final Exam Periods24 hours per day

Housing & Weather Safety

Your safety is our #1 priority.

  • Campus housing is exclusively for UWF students.
  • Entrances are only accessible via key card.
  • We have five layers of On-Call Support to assist your student 24 hrs a day every day.
  • There’s a dedicated campus police force and Blue Light stations to get in contact with UWF officers in case of an emergency. 

The ArgoLife Residence Staff genuinely cares about your success. We have a specially trained team of Resident Assistants, Hall

Directors and Professional staff that are available to help you make a smooth transition. We want to see you learn, grow and become the best version of yourself while you stay on campus at UWF.

General Tornado or Severe Weather Procedures

Follow the General Tornado or Severe Weather Procedures in the event of a tornado or severe weather warning.

Tropical Weather

In the event of a hurricane or other tropical weather, the University may close, and all on-campus individuals may need to evacuate University Housing. The Tropical Weather Guide is provided as an aid in maintaining student and guest's personal safety and well being.

Housing Waivers

ADULT GROUPS (all cadets 18 or older)
Signed Release Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk (Adult)
(must be signed by each adult staying overnight as participant, chaperones, staff, etc.)

MINOR GROUPS (all cadets 17 or younger)
Signed Release of Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk (Minors)
(must be signed by parent or legal guardian of each minor participant staying in overnight as a participate)
AND
Parental/Guardian Consent & Medical Authorization

Required Physical Documents

The following physical documents must be brought with you to UWF.

  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • Health insurance card
  • TSA documents:
    • a U.S. passport; or,
    • a certified birth certificate and a government issued photo ID

Dress Code

Travel

Unless otherwise stated by the Air Force, UWF does not have a dress code for travel.

Flight Training

Unless otherwise stated by the Air Force, you should dress for comfort during flight training; the airplanes can get quite warm in the summer. Shorts, short-sleeved shirts, and tennis shoes are sufficient. Note that shorts worn during flight training must be long enough to cover legs while sitting in a car seat (similar to aircraft seat).

Flight Suits

The Air Force will supply flight suits which may be worn after your solo. 

Boots

USAFA/ROTC attendees will coordinate flight suits and boots through their sponsoring organization. All other 2025 Flight Academy participants will be responsible for providing their own boots.  JROTC cadets will bring sage or tan boots, while CAP cadets will bring black boots.  For Detachment 1 participants, you are authorized to bring any plain black or other conservatively-colored shoes or black boots.  No western-style boots are authorized for any 2025 program participant.
