titleWhy did I not get my Monthly Stipend/Rate?

Why did I not get my first payment? 

Ensure VA Enrollment Certification has been submitted.

Did you complete your VA Enrollment Certification Form (ECF) for the term? Here is how to complete the ECF: MVRC - Requesting for VA Certification via MyUWF

If you have completed the ECF, when your completed it will also impact your monthly stipend. The VA can take up to 4-6 weeks to process certifications. 

Example: You submit your ECF between 8/12, we certify your courses on 8/13. The VA will not receive the submitted certification until 8/14. This means you would not receive funding on 9/1 as only two weeks and a half has passed since being certified. This is why it is important to submit an ECF as soon as registering for courses.

New Students -ECF submitted but not processed

If you have submitted your ECF but has not been processed, ensure we have all the proper documentation on file. MVRC is unable to process certifications, meaning we will not submit your certification to the VA, until all proper documentation has been received, read more on required documentation here: MVRC - VA Education benefits at UWF *Under Review*Getting Started

NOTE: It is important to always check your student email as we will notify you on why your ECF is unable to be completed as there may be many other factors. 

Debt with the VA - Outstanding balance

If you have withdrawn or received non-punitive grades 30 days before initial payment then you may have an outstanding balance with the VA. If no payment plan has been set up with the VA regarding a withdrawal or received a non-punitive grade (NC grade) then the VA will recover the debt from incoming Monthly pay rates expected to receive. No funding will be provided to the student until the debt is cleared with the VA, contact them at 888-442-4551 to set up a payment plan or inquiries on debt.

titleWhy did I not receive my full Monthly Stipend/Rate?


 Not receiving your full Monthly rate may be due to numerous reasons. Be advised, the VA does not pay between term breaks and students can expect prorated amounts between breaks. 

The VA will pay you a percentage of the full month's rate based on the number of days that you're enrolled in the month. The VA calls this a prorated payment. 

For example, if the semester (school) starts on the 20th, you can expect yo get a payment for the 10 days of enrollment that month. You payment would be 1/3 of the monthly rate. You full monthly stipend can be expected the next month since that would be the first full month. 

Another reason for not receiving your fill monthly stipend may be due to any debt with the VA. Ensure you requested for a VA Deferment

Outstand

Outstanding balance with UWF

If you have an outstanding balance for pervious semesters then the deferment can not be applied to your account. Monitor your TransAct through your MyUWF for account balances. 

I have a balance but receive CSDDV (State Scholarship)

Be advised, the CSDDV does not pay during Summer semesters. It is student's responsibility to monitor their Account Balances and fees due. 

The CSDDV is also a state scholarship which is not monitored through the MVRC. It is also not tied to VA Educational benefits. Any inquiries on the CSDDV and payment issues may be directed to the Florida Department of Education at 888-827-2004 or email at osfa@fldoe.org.

There is a $200 reinstatement fee that you will have to pay before you will be reinstated into the classes.  This $200 fee is

You will be charged the original $100 late payment fee and a $100 late registration fee to be reenrolled in your classes.  These fees are not covered by the VA.

Reinstatement - Removal for NonpaymentImage Modified

As soon as you are reinstated in classes, please submit the VA enrollment certification form (ECF) requesting to have the classes certified to the VA.  Notify us as soon as the ECF is submitted so we can set the deferment to prevent you from being purged from classes again.

As a reminder, the ECF must be submitted as soon as you register for classes to prevent this in the future.

  • If you completed an ECF along  with a deferment, ensure to review your TransAct for any unpaid fees. A deferment is unable to be applied to your account if you have unpaid fees for pervious terms/semesters.
