General Info
Why do we need
Stormwater AwarenessMotorized Cart Safety Training?
The University operates its own stormwater systems under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) Phase II Program. Specific permit parameters are contained within UWF’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit with the State of Florida and Environmental Protection Agency. This permit helps regulate the stormwater runoff that is discharged into local water bodies. UWF is responsible for informing and educating the employees on stormwater, stormwater runoff, and illicit discharges. Specific requirements of the MS4 involve stormwater education and outreach training for all employees.All motorized carts must be operated safely on University property to reduce accidents, incidents, and injuries related to the operation of motorized carts. The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for providing ongoing education and resources related to the safe operation of motorized carts. EH&S has put together:
- an online training certification course;
- Operating Procedures; and
- an Annual Inspection Procedure
- UWF Motorized Cart Acknowledgment Form
