Per the University Undergraduate Catalog: A normal enrollment for undergraduates is defined as 15 semester hours per semester. To enroll for more than 18 semester hours in a semester, a the student must have the written permission of the academic advisor and the chairperson of the student’s major department. |
Twelve semester hours is considered full-time. Students who withdraw are not considered enrolled in the course once the withdrawal has been processed, and enrollment status will be adjusted as of that time.

's academic advisor must initiate the Adjustment to Minimum/Maximum Hours form, along with the signature of the Department Chair and the student. Only the Office of the Registrar may perform an override to the minimum/maximum hours restrictions. Students who require a minimum/maximum hours override should contact their advisor to complete the Graduate students may not enroll for more than their listed maximum hours in a semester without the written permission of the academic advisor. The student's academic advisor must initiate the Adjustment to Minimum/Maximum Hours Dynamic Form. The form will route for the necessary signatures, including the student's, and once signed, it will be submitted to the Office of the Registrar for processingHours form, along with the signature of the Department Chair and the student.
