The Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR) program offers up to 36 months of education and training benefits. If you're a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard, or Air National Guard, you may be eligible for this benefits. Applying for Ch 1606 

You can apply online via VA Form 22-1990 (if you have already applied skip this step).

You do not need sign in to start your application. If you do not sign in, you must complete your application as it will not save any progress. You may first create an ID.me or Login.gov account. Logging in will save your application progress. If you have not used your education benefits, complete the Form 22-1990

If you are the veteran/service member/reservist and have not used your education benefits, complete Form 22-1990

 We will also need a copy of your Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE), which is part of your reserve contract. Example of required form:

Note: You Notice of Basic Eligibility (DD Form 2384-1) is obtained from your unit. Your unit will also code your eligibility into the Department of Defense (DoD) personnel system so the VA can verify it. 

Certificate of Eligibility (COE)

You will receive this document in the mail a few months after completing the application. We will need a copy for our records, send it to mvrc@uwf.edu.
