Overview

Excerpt

The Office of International Affairs requires a $200 non-refundable deposit for international graduate students at the point in which they “confirm their intent to enroll” in their Slate Portal.  The deposit must be paid prior to the issuance of the Form I-20 needed for the student to apply for a student visa.  The purpose of this deposit will serve as an early indicator of a student's commitment and intent to study at UWF for the semester they have been granted admission.

The deposit will automatically be applied to the student's tuition balance for the semester in which they have been admitted.

Instructions

Step 1

International graduate students who have completed a graduate application and who intend to be in "F-1 international student visa status" will be assessed required to make the $200 fee upon student confirmation in SLATE. Students will acknowledge the deposit confirming the statement below.

The student will also acknowledge the deposit when requesting a Form I-20 in Dynamic Forms. There will be a check box that must be checked to make the Form I-20 request.

By checking this box, the student acknowledges that they must confirm their intent to enroll in Slate (where you applied to UWF)
AND
that the student must make payment of the $200 deposit that is required before UWF can issue the Form I-20.

Failure to confirm intent to enroll AND make payment of the deposit will mean UWF cannot issue the Form I-20.

Step 2

Student pays $200 deposit in Slate.

Step 3

Office of International Affairs is notified that the fee has been paid in order to issue the Form I-20 and send to the student.

Step 4

When the student enrolls in classes for the semester in which they were admitted, the $200 deposit will be applied to the tuition balance in the student's account.
