Why should you securely delete/shred information?

There are many software tools for the retrieval of deleted files. Those tools, often referred to as "file recovery" software, are taking advantage of shortcomings in the "delete" command that we all use regularly to delete files. Actually, the "delete" operation only removes information When files are deleted using the common "delete" operation, information is only removed from files so they can't be found by the operating system. What should be shredded?

Shredding Files using File Shredder

  1. Install File Shredder from the link above.
  2. Open File Shredder.
  3. Select the files you wish to shred by clicking "Add File(s)" or "Add Folder".
  4. Once the files have been added, click "Shred Files Now..."
