    Dress Code

    Travel

Unless otherwise stated by the Air Force, UWF does not have a dress code for travel.

    Flight Training

Unless otherwise stated by the Air Force, you should dress for comfort during flight training; the airplanes can get quite warm in the summer. Shorts, short-sleeved shirts, and tennis shoes are sufficient. Note that shorts worn during flight training must be long enough to cover legs while sitting in a car seat (similar to aircraft seat).

    Flight Suits

The Air Force will supply flight suits which may be worn after your solo.

    Boots

USAFA/ROTC attendees will coordinate flight suits and boots through their sponsoring organization. All other 2022 Flight Academy participants will be responsible for providing their own boots.  JROTC cadets will bring sage or tan boots, while CAP cadets will bring black boots.  For Detachment 1 participants, you are authorized to bring any plain black or other conservatively-colored shoes or black boots.  No western-style boots are authorized for any 2022 program participant.
