Ally is a new tool that helps you make your online course materials more accessible. Directly integrated into Canvas, Ally checks all content in your course. It then provides you with a report rating the accessibility of the various components of your course. Moreover, Ally can suggest ways to make content more accessible. Ally also allows students to automatically generate accessible, alternative formats for many course materials.
Faculty may request to have Ally turned on for in their Canvas courses by filling out this form.
Why is accessible content important?
It is important to make sure all content uploaded to the web, including content on your Blackboard sites, is fully accessible by following the training and guidance provided on the Digital Skills Hub. Then when you create or view your course content in Blackboard, you can follow the feedback and guidance provided by Blackboard Ally on how to increase the accessibility of your content further.
