Overview
Welcome to "Basic Computer Skills Training for GIS". This course is designed to familiarize students, faculty and staff with identifying and obtaining the computer skills required to successfully complete GIS tasks. You must pass this course before you will be given access to software on Argo Apps for GIS and student or trial version software.
This course covers the following topics:
- Basic Computer Concepts for GIS
- Essential Computer Skills
- The Internet and Cloud Services
- Email/Gmail
- Basic Computer Ethics

Prerequisites
Certain aspects of GIS software require students to have sight and hand-eye coordination (certain abilities) to practice GIS and use the software (any GIS software).

Working Through the Course
You are free to work through this course at your own pace. Students have until the end of drop/add week to finish the course and take the exam. You will find graphics and videos throughout this course. View these demonstrations to prepare for the final quiz. The quiz includes 10 questions and opportunity to update answers before submission. Score at least 80% to pass.
