Continuing Education students cannot log into the Canvas mobile application normally. This article explains how to Continuing Education students can access UWF Continuing Education eLearning courses from your their iPhone or Android smartphonesmartphones.  Continuing Education students cannot access the mobile version of eLearning the same way that UWF college students can.

Instructions

Step 1: Install the app

On your phone's app store (App Store for iPhone, Play Store for Android), search "Canvas" and install the free app from Instructure called "Canvas Student"Download the Canvas Student app by Instructure Inc. on your smartphone (app on Apple's App Store; app on Google Play Store).

Step 2: Change to "Canvas Login" mode

Using 2 fingers, spread apart slightly as seen in the videos below, double-tap on tap on the screen.

The phrase "Canvas Login" will appear in the top right of the screen next to the question mark:

If you double-tap too many times, you will have to keep double-tapping until you see the correct phrase appear (Canvas Login, or Canvas_Login: ON).

Click the blue button that says "Find my school." . Type "uwf" and select University of West Florida from the search results

4: Log in

Enter your Login ID (usually your email address) and password. If you do not know your password, press "Forgot Password?" and enter your Login ID in order to reset your password.

titleI am tapping the screen, but I don't see "Canvas Login" anywhere.

You may not have your 2 fingers spread apart far enough (it should be about an inch), or .  Or you may be double-tapping too slowly. Try doing it double-tapping quickly, as shown in the videos above.

titleI saw "Canvas Login" appear, but when I try to log in, it shows a UWF logo.

You may have double-tapped too many times and tried to log in as a "Site Admin" instead. Go all the way back to the starting screen and double-tap with two fingers again until you see "Canvas Login" or "Canvas_Login: ON.".

titleI entered my User ID and password and I cannot log in.

If you see a UWF Logo logo and a "Username" and "Password" field, you are on the incorrect login screen. If you see a Canvas logo and fields for "User ID" and "Password" but cannot log in, you may be entering your password incorrectly. You can tap "Forgot Password?" to reset it.
