Overview

Outlined below are the instructions to register a business with the State of Florida, which is a requirement of all vendors conducting business with the University of West Florida.

Step 1

In order to file this application a business will need the following: 

  1. Name, date of incorporation, and address of the foreign corporation;
  2. Federal Employer Identification Number (FEI or EIN);
  3. Personal information for the corporation's directors;
  4. Registered agent within Florida;
    1. If you do not have an agent in Florida, you may use a registered agent service such as https://www.floridaregisteredagent.net/.  The cost is approximately $50 per year.
    2. Registered agent must sign the application
  5. $70.00 registration fee paid by check and made payable to: FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF STATE; and
  6. A completed

These requirements are in line with Florida Statute 607.1503

Select the link for "Profit Qualification" and complete the form.

Step 4

Submit completed application and payment by courier or mail to addresses listed on the application form.  Processing times may vary, but typically notices are sent within three to four weeks.

Step 5

Once approved to transact business in the State of Florida, corporations are required to file an annual report to maintain active status.  Filing periods are between January 1 - May 1.  Filing fees for the annual report are $150.
