For the best file storage experience, Google Drive and Google Drive for Desktop are strongly recommended. A few of the benefits of Google Drive and Google Drive for Desktop over H: drive include the following:
- Unlimited Storage
- Easier accessibility from off-campus
- Mobile access
- Multi-user access and collaboration on shared files
Overview
Each UWF student and employee is given a Home directory; this is commonly referred to as the H: drive. These directories reside on UWF's servers and are backed up regularly.
For students and employees who are on campus, they can access their H: drives on an authorized UWF computer (most UWF-owned computers are authorized) when connected to the UWF network.
For students and employees who are off campus, they'll have to access their H: drives via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Employees may be able to access their H: drives using RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol).
Students and employees can also access their H: drives within ArgoApps (without RDP or FTP). All applications have the ability to open/save from a user's H drive.
Files in the H: drives can be accessed after students and employees log in using their ArgoNet username and password.
Students are allocated 5 GB total for their H: drives.
